HL(Wire Drawing)

·Apply fine, hair-like scratches in a single direction

·Have a matte, dull sheen

Use a grinding belt with a grit size of approximately 150 to 240 on one side to grind the surface.

·Capable of presenting a calm and elegant appearance

·Has anti-slip properties

·Features diverse designs

·Building materials

·Kitchen equipment

·Home appliances

·Decorative items

·Transportation equipment

No.1

· Silver-white

· Rough texture

· Lacks luster

·After hot rolling, annealing → pickling and finishing processing

·For applications where surface gloss is not required

·Structural components

·Cold-rolled base material

No.2B

· Compared to the No.2D precision processing, it is smoother and has a slight sheen.

· Relatively smooth

For the No.2D material (after cold rolling and annealing → pickling and fine processing), a gentle cold rolling (skin rolling) is carried out with an appropriate degree of gloss applied.

·It is the most commonly used finishing method for commercially available stainless steel products.

· General Materials

· Building Materials

#400

· Close to the mirror surface

· With several stripes

Use a 400-mesh polishing wheel to polish the No. 2B material.

· One type of mirror surface finishing

· Has a shinier appearance than 2B

· Has a luster similar to BA

·Building materials

·Kitchen equipment

No.8 (Mirror Surface)

· Close to the mirror surface

· Without any polishing marks

· Generally, the particle size of the polishing agent is gradually increased. After the polishing process,a mirror-polishing wheel is used for the final polishing.

·The mirror surface with the highest reflectivity has been finely processed.

·The scars are obvious, so it is used for areas that are not prone to damage.

·Glossy appearance

·High-end feeling

·Weight sensation

· Construction materials (ceiling panels, etc.)

· Decorative items

· Mirrors

※ "P〇〇〇": Indicates the surface finish (coarseness and granularity of the polishing agent). The smaller the number, the rougher the polishing marks.

※ "No.〇": Represents the gloss intensity. The smaller the number, the more lustrous it is.

Surface finishing: HL (brushed)

This is a surface treatment method that involves grinding the SUS304 surface in a single direction with a grinding belt to create fine hair-like scratches. It imparts a sophisticated and premium look.

Surface finishing: No.1

No.1 is a surface treatment method where SUS304 undergoes hot rolling (heated above the recrystallization temperature to soften and then rolled), followed by annealing and then acid cleaning of the surface. Materials that have undergone No.1 finishing are also referred to as "HOT materials" or "acid-washed materials".

The surface is silver-white, matte, and has rough texture (similar to the skin of a pear), which is one of its major characteristics. It is used for applications where surface gloss is not required.

Surface finishing: No.2B

No.2B material is the material that has undergone a process called skin rolling on No.2D material.

No.2D material is a component that undergoes annealing after cold rolling (rolled at room temperature), and then is cleaned with acid. Its characteristic is being gray and having little luster. Skin rolling is a mild rolling process implemented to achieve a moderate luster. The No.2B material that has undergone skin rolling on No.2D material is smoother and has a slight luster compared to No.2D material.

No.2B is the most commonly used method for surface finishing of SUS304. Most of the commercially available SUS304 products are made of this No.2B material.

Surface finishing: #400

#400 is a finishing method that uses a P400 grit polishing wheel to polish the surface of No.2B material. It is a type of so-called "mirror finish" finishing. The #400 material has stronger luster than No.2B material, but it is not a complete mirror surface; there are slightly remaining stripes on the surface.

The #400 material is used in construction materials, kitchen equipment, etc.

Surface finishing: No.8 (mirror finish)

No.8 is one of the mirror finish processing methods for SUS304 mirror finish processing. It is the closest to a mirror among these processing methods. The luster of No.8 material is stronger than that of #400 material, and its surface has no stripes or polishing marks. In fact, there are cases where No.8 material is used as a mirror.

When manufacturing No.8 material, the polishing is carried out by gradually increasing the particle size of the polishing agent, and finally using a mirror polishing wheel for the final polishing. Due to its luster, high-end feel, and weight, No.8 material is used as a building material or decoration, but it should be noted that it is prone to damage.
