Its atmospheric corrosion resistance is one of the important indicators to determine the performance. Accelerated corrosion testing is commonly used to characterize the weatherability of weathering steels by the loss-in-weight method. The weight loss rate and weight loss rate of 450NQR1 are significantly lower than that of ordinary carbon steel Q345qD. Q450NQR1 consists mainly of a protective α-FeOOH phase. This rust layer provides good stability protection.
